Sonisphere snowman competition winner revealed
Wednesday, January 20, 2010
After one of the fiercest debates in the history of rock, Team Sonisphere has finally agreed on a winner for our Snowman competition that ran on the official festival Facebook page during the UK’s recent freeze.
And here it is! By Jason Comley, we call it ‘Bighead’, and he’s got a pass (the snowman, that is – Jason has won himself a Sonisphere swagbag).

Thanks to everyone who got their fingers cold and got involved. We were seriously impressed with the level of creativity and effort that went into this and it was a very tough call picking a winner!
Some of the others we really liked were:

"Zac Wilde", by Rachel Hobbs

"Alice", by Anne-Marie Evans"Sonisman", by Dean Boland

"Snowslash", by Rhianna Sexton

"Snowmaaphrodite", by Andrew Watson

"Snowisphere", by Max Gush

"Even Snowmen aren't safe!", by Shaun Carter

"Eddie Snowman", by James White

"The horns", by Chris White

"Snow Elliott", by Julie Sutton

"Tony Isnowmi", by Rhiannon Evans

"Guitar Hero", by Elaine Thompson and her 3 year-old daughter

"Doctor Snhoo", by Mathew Bryant

"Snowman on a bike", by Mark Hale
The snow may have melted into a distant memory of semi-permitted truancy, but these amazing creations – and loads more that we didn’t have space to show you here – will be preserved forever in ROCK on the
Sonisphere Facebook Page here as a frozen tribute to those few great days that snow was the new metal.
