Bring Me The Horizon

Sonisphere’s artist pages are written for real fans by real fans. Thanks to Pearce Hamblin for this one…

This Sheffield metalcore mob have gone from strength to strength since their debut EP came out at the end of 2004.  They have amassed a huge following both over here in the UK as well as abroad, having played all over the world in the last few years, including sold out UK festival appearances.

The band started off life in 2004 and signed to Visible Noise records in 2005, re-releasing their EP, “This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For”. The band then worked on more material for their debut album “Count Your Blessings” which was released in October 2006 and were awarded Kerrang’s Best British Newcomer award. The band embarked on a UK headline tour as well as supporting bands such as Lostprophets and Killswitch Engage.

At the beginning of 2008, the band had already started writing for their follow-up album, recording it during the spring in Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, Arch Enemy). Suicide Season was released in September 2008 gathering positive reviews from publications such as Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Q Magazine and is probably their most accessible album to date.

After embarking on their first US tour, guitarist Curtis Ward left the band due to “commitment issues”, which is when Jona Weinhofen was drafted in. The band are currently preparing their third studio album which they hope to start recording next year with Fredrick again and has been given a Summer 2010 planned release date. Expect them to drop a new song or two into their set at Sonisphere this summer, and when their new album hits, it will hit us hard!

Band Members:
Oli Sykes
(Vocals)
Lee Malia (Lead Guitar)
Jona Weinhofen (Rhythm Guitar, formerly from I Killed the Prom Queen and Bleeding Through)
Matt Kean (Bass Guitar)
Matt Nicholls (Drums).

Must-have album: Suicide Season

Songs we hope they play at Sonisphere:
Anything from their Suicide Season album would go down a treat at their first Sonisphere appearance, particularly Chelsea Smile and The Comedown.
